AMS Logo is Hiring a Database Developer Near Mooresville, NC

BASIC FUNCTION

This position will work with a team to develop business intelligence reporting and process automation through data modeling (database), SQL programming, and ETL tools. Developer would evaluate existing databases, SQL queries and SSIS jobs, to explain, organize, and present data as business needs require.

Remote position, may need to come to office in Mooresville at times.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Collect information between disparate systems to analyze, evaluate, and optimize existing data control.
  2. Prepare detailed flow charts, diagrams, or other documentation outlining system capabilities and processes.
  3. Develop business related reporting using SQL Server 2016 and IBM Cognos Analytics.
  4. Collaborate with other technical staff, such as networking, to ensure connectivity and compatibility between systems. This would include optimizing integration of data within those systems.
  5. Select from authorized procedures and seek assistance when guidelines are inadequate, significant deviations are proposed, or when unanticipated problems arise.
  6. Conduct technical research on system upgrades to determine feasibility, time required, and compatibility with current system.
  7. Maintain confidentiality regarding the information being processed, stored, or accessed by the network.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Analytical thinking, planning, professionalism, organizational skills, and cognitive reasoning
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and technical skills
  • Ability to translate user requests into automated and effective data reports
  • Microsoft Office proficiency, specifically with Excel
  • Some work experience in SQL, SQL Server, Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to work varied hours/days in response to needs of the systems being supported
  • Accredited college level training or equivalent

PREFERENCES

  • Experience with SQL Server 2016 , IBM Cognos Analytics reporting software and Visual Studio 2017
  • More than two years work experience in writing SQL queries, T-SQL, building SSIS packages and scheduling jobs
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or a related field
